Last month, The Japan Market Expansion Competition (JMEC) announced the winners for the JMEC 25 program. More than 220 guests—including senior executives and other leaders from embassies and foreign chambers of commerce in Japan—attended the JMEC Awards Ceremony and party at the Tokyo American Club. 

The Japan Market Expansion Competition (JMEC) program, which is supported by 17 Foreign Chambers of Commerce and trade organizations in Japan, including ourselves—is now open for applications from prospective new Participants and Project Clients. Since last year, the NCCJ provides a scholarship for JMEC participants of NCCJ member companies. 

The Dutch Consulate General in Osaka is looking for an experienced senior trade officer to support Dutch business activities in the region and identify promising economic opportunities. The Consulate promotes Dutch economic interests in West Japan (mainly the Kansai); i.e. trade and investment.

The Netherlands Chamber of Commerce in Japan (NCCJ) supports the Viewpoint from the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ACCJ) that calls on the Japanese government to legalize same-sex marriage. Doing so, we believe, would remove certain handicaps faced by companies doing business in Japan in attracting and retaining talent and in treating the full diversity of their workforce equitably, which are foundational elements of a work environment conducive of maximum productivity.
