Changes in the NCCJ Board

We wish to advise you that Duco Delgorge, Chairman of the NCCJ, will step down as Chairman and as Board Member on December 31, 2011 in order to take on the role of European Business Council in Japan (EBC) Chairman from January 1, 2012. He will replace Tommy Kullberg, who has been Chairman of the EBC since January 2008, and who has reached the end of his 3 year term as Chairman.
We are pleased to announce that Hans van der Tang, Board Director and Secretary of the NCCJ, has accepted to be Chairman of the NCCJ from January 1, 2012. His nomination was unanimously supported by the Board on December 5, 2011. We are equally pleased to announce that subsequently the Board elected Taco de Vries with unanimous support from January 1, 2012 as the new Secretary.

NCCJ event report: "Briefing & Drinks" at Colliers International

On October 6, 2011 about 20 members and guests were invited to the boardroom of Colliers International in the Halifax Building in Roppongi for the 2nd. “The Briefing & Drinks" presentation.
"The Briefing & Drinks" series are presentations whereby NCCJ members present the sectors in which they operate, as well as outlining their strategies and operations. Colliers International is a leader in global real estate services and is the premier international real estate consultant in Japan.
Speaker and NCCJ member Richard van Rooij has 20 years of high level diversified real estate services experience in Japan and he is currently the representative director of both Colliers International and Halifax Asset Management. Richard gave us a comprehensive overview of the Tokyo commercial real estate market, his colleague Brett Jensen, a 10-year+ Osaka veteran, gave us an overview of the vibrant Kansai area.
The audience received a well documented explanation of how Colliers International Japan has morphed from a developer into a successful real estate services company through specialization, cross fertilization and offering a unique business proposition of helping tenants finding solutions and cost reduction benefits. Current market trends were also addressed, as well as the opportunity of achieving savings in the current market.
A lively Q&A session highlighted the many sided aspects of the subject and the real benefits experts can offer in this market.

European Chambers Cocktail Party - video

On September 28, at ANA Intercontinental Hotel, more than 200 participants from 12 European Chambers in Japan, joined the 2nd annual European Chambers Cocktail Party.
The event was organized by CCIFJ (French Chamber), and co-organized by European Chambers in Japan : DIHKJ (German), BCCJ (British), FCCJ (Finish), ABC (Austrian), BLCCJ (Belgian-Luxembourg), DCCJ (Danish), ICCJ (Italian), SCCIJ (Swiss), SCCJ (Swedish), NoCCJ (Norway) and NCCJ (Dutch).
