A lecture by Mr. Luuk Krammer will be held on November 9. This event is organized by the Japan-Netherlands Society (JNS). Specialized in photographs of constructions, Mr. Kramer is carrying out his project to keep records of objects built for water infrastructure, such as ports, rivers, bridges, and water supply systems, by Dutch engineers.

In the second half of the lecture Mr. Yoshiyuki Kawazoe,* an associate professor of the University of Tokyo and architect, will join the talk. Mr. Kramer and Mr. Kawazoe’s topics will range from differences in perception of water between Japan and the Netherlands which lie in architectural styles to cultural differences among countries. *Mr. Kawasoe designed Henn na Hotel (strange hotel) in Huis Ten Bosch in Nagasaki and the new library at the University of Tokyo.
