Categories

The NCCJ offers various categories of membership – from corporate to individual - to best suit you and/or your company's particular situation.

We welcome Dutch companies in Japan, Dutch business people in Japan and all other companies and individuals in Japan who are interested in developing trade and networking relationships with the Netherlands and with Dutch companies.

Eligibility

Eligibility for membership of the NCCJ is determined by the following criteria in Article 4 of our statutes.

Article 4

(1) Regular Members

  • corporations, other business organizations and any institutions with official seat (in Dutch: statutaire zetel) in the Netherlands;
  • corporations or other business organizations with official seat in Japan, in which a majority of the voting rights is exercised by a corporation or other business organization with official seat in the Netherlands or by an individual or individuals of Netherlands nationality;
  • individuals of Netherlands nationality who are residents of Japan and represent or are employed with a corporation, other business organization or institution as referred to under Article 4(1) paragraph a. or paragraph b.

(2) Associate Members

  • corporations, other business organizations and any institutions that do not belong to any of the categories referred to under Article 4(1) paragraph a. or paragraph b. and that seek business and/or friendship relationships with Regular Members or otherwise actively contribute towards realization of the objects of the NCCJ;
  • individuals of other than Netherlands nationality that seek business and/or friendship relationships with Regular Members or otherwise actively contribute towards realization of the objects of the NCCJ;
  • individuals of Netherlands nationality that do not belong to the category referred to under Article 4(1) paragraph c.

Based on your eligibility for membership the following membership categories are open to you.

  • The representative member has voting rights. Eligibility is determined by the Management Committee yearly

  • Either an individual or a company who does not fit in the Regular category or chooses to be Associate member rather than Regular member.
  • One (corporate) representative, no voting rights

  • Individual < 30 years old

Terms

Membership of the NCCJ is based on the following membership terms:

  • Membership of the NCCJ is renewed at the beginning of each financial year, defined as April 1 to March 31.
  • If you wish to end your membership, please do so in writing before April 1.
  • NCCJ membership runs for 12 months, with fees charged pro rata.
  • Membership is open to all companies and any nationality.
  • There is no joining fee.
  • Only Regular Gold Members, Regular Members and Regular Small Enterprises Members enjoy voting rights.
