New member: Arno Groenewoud, PwC Japan Tax

PwC Japan Tax recently joined our Chamber as a new member with Representative Arno Groenewoud. PwC Japan Tax is the largest tax firm in Japan. About half of its client base is foreign companies that invest in Japan and half is Japanese. Arno is Senior Manager and is responsible for supporting foreign companies in Japan with company establishment, restructuring, M&A and due diligence. Arno also assists Japanese companies with their operations in the Netherlands and Europe.

An important role that Arno plays is supporting subsdiaries in Japan with the communication with their head office in the Netherlands or elsewhere regarding tax related issues. Arno joined Coopers International Tax in Amsterdam in 1997, a year before its merger with PriceWaterhouse.

In 2004 Arno moved to Johannesburg where he worked for two and a half years and in 2009 transferred to Tokyo. Arno studied Law and Business Economics at the University of Amsterdam. He is a highly committed cyclist who regularly leaves the city in the early morning for a 200km ride around Tokyo’s outskirts.

Arno says that PwC Japan Tax joined NCCJ because it sees our Chamber as a platform from which to exchange experiences in work and life in Japan as well as opportunities to build the firm’s network.
